In this RafflePress review we will look at four key factors to the buyer's decision making process. This includes “Ease of use, Features, Pricing and Support”. So if you just want the quick overview of how RafflePress performs here it is for you.
This WordPress plugin ranks highly across all four key metrics with a combination of ease of use and a constantly expanding marketing feature set and stellar support means you can't go wrong when choosing this company.
The fact that there is still a RafflePress lifetime deal makes this review today one of our highest scoring in recent times.
To further understand how we came to these numbers read the full review below.
In this RafflePress review we will be looking specifically at how this plugin allows you to build an audience through its various “actions” options and take a look at how quick it is to get setup.
We will also compare RafflePress to some of its direct competitors including the original king of WordPress giveaways and two newer SAAS tools which make the same viral claims RafflePress does.
What is RafflePress?
RafflePress is a WordPress only plugin designed to grow your online audience through viral raffles.
This raffle strategy is not one to be overlooked as some of the biggest brands have and continue to use it to great effect for everything from building mailing lists to growing social media followings. In fact one of RafflePress's competitors KingSumo was created by the successsful 8-figure AppSumo group and their founder Noah Kagan credits their explosive growth to the use of contests in fact to this day every few months I see them launch a new giveaway so this is one strategy that should be on your list to implement.
But historically having the right system in place to setup these giveaways and more importantly make them go viral has been lacking. And this is where RafflePress comes in to give you everything you need to grow a large audience using this strategy.

How to use RafflePress?
RafflePress has an easy to use drag and drop block editor that requires no coding skills to have a contest up and running in no time. The templates feature is what makes this possible where all the setup has been done for you and you just have to add your own prizes and links to websites and social media to get the ball rolling.
The video below does an excellent job of showing you the actual “mechanics” of how to use the plugin
A few highlights
- Drag & Drop Giveaway Builder: Anyone can easily create successful giveaway campaigns in just a few minutes without hiring a developer. This is the star of the show when it comes to RafflePress and what makes it one of if not, the best contest plugin for WordPress right now. See the screenshot below to get an idea of how it works.
Each element when clicked on has its own contextual settings for example this screenshot of the newsletter action linked to a web HTML form.
Other notable features
- Viral Giveaway Templates: Start with pre-built giveaway templates to get more subscribers, improve engagement, and grow traffic.
- 1 Click Entry + Fraud Protection: Make it easy for users to enter your giveaway while eliminating fraudulent entries to keep your contest fair.
- Viral Sharing (Refer-a-Friend): Automate word of mouth marketing with refer-a-friend a.k.a. viral sharing to supercharge your growth.
- Marketing & CRM Integrations: Easily grow your email list. RafflePress seamlessly integrates with your favorite email marketing services & CRMs.
- Zapier integration: This allows for many other applications and features specific to your personal app stack.
And this is only the beginning. In the coming months RafflePress will become an even more powerful growth tool for marketers and business owners. We can see the commitment this company has to the plugin because for the last week there has been daily updates to it.

Now that you know how good RafflePress is, the natural question is price and how it stacks up to the alternative contest marketing tools..
There are three plans to choose from (identical in features – different in cost)
$39.20 per year
For 1 site
$99.50 per year
For 3 sites
$199.50 per year
For 20 sites
RafflePress lifetime deal
There is one more plan that deserves special mention as it includes everything in the top tier Growth plan but for a one time fee of $359.20.
However unlike the Growth plan you are not limited to 20 websites but can use this license on as many websites as you like.
It really is the best deal and after you have test driven RafflePress for yourself would be the best deal in the long run (but could be taken down at any time just like they did for WPForms when it was first released in 2016).
There is one notable competitor and then other new options that have entered the market:
- KingSumo (True competitor as it has a dedicated WordPress plugin and SAAS option)
- Vyper (SAAS tool)
- Viral Loops (SAAS tool)
KingSumo have been around the longest of all these apps mentioned and the AppSumo group credit using this tool for the blistering success they were able to achieve growing their email marketing list and turning the AppSumo group into the 8 potentially 9 figure company it is now.
So it goes without saying that you have an amazing back story to KingSumo and it's no small thing that they are giving you access to their own in-house tool. That being said KingSumo felt cutting edge 3 years ago now and with a lack of development of the WordPress plugin in favor of their SAAS model (for all websites not just WordPress) it feels that the WordPress plugin has lost some love and to be honest I think RafflePress knew this and saw an opportunity in the market.
RafflePress are known for creating excellent user experiences and when you compare it to KingSumo it definitely feels better designed and more importantly will result in your giveaway going more viral. So in our books RafflePress are definitely winning over KingSumo for the title of best WordPress Raffle Software.
A few thoughts about pricing of RafflePress vs KingSumo
There is a license for KingSumo that costs $198 for lifetime access but that doesn't compare to the RafflePress deal as KingSumo only give you one website for that price so the $594 pricing is a more accurate apples to apples comparison.
But there is so much more to RafflePress than a better price.
The inclusion of templates and a drag and drop blocks editor for the giveaways make this tool much easier to use than KingSumo.
Not only that by the actions options are more likely to lead to your contest going viral compared to KingSumo who are hardly updating the plugin nowadays apart from a recent upgrade to connect KingSumo to their new email service called SendFox.
All in all RafflePress feels more polished but more importantly is being continually updated which bodes well for the future.
Vyper and Viral Loops Comparison
However the real competition for RafflePress is coming from outside the WordPress ecosystem in the form of Vyper and Viral Loops.
Viral Loops in particular are doing some amazing things with connecting giveaways to the newest hottest trend in marketing – Facebook Messenger and Vyper themselves are great for creating leader board and milestone giveaways and the fact that they now have a freemium plan makes it a compelling offer to at least try them out before deciding to buy a lifetime license to RafflePress.
With all that said though I would encourage you to not take too long as there is no official word on when RafflePress is ending their lifetime deal, it could be today…
Also keep this post bookmarked as we are doing a case study comparing all these options by running a new giveaway every month using each platform as a test. Should be an interesting experiment.
RafflePress Pros and Cons
Are there up-sells?
No, the whole suite of products backed by Syed Balkhi which includes apps like OptinMonster, WPForms and of course RafflePress are really good at not annoying their users with such up-sell tactics as is common on websites like JVZOO.
The only up-sell you will see is in your WordPress dashboard when trying to access features not available on your plan like Zapier.
At those moments it will gently nudge you to upgrade your plan.
Do we recommend RafflePress?
After launching our own giveaway with RafflePress and seeing how easy to use and intuitive the user experience is and the fact that they have a lifetime deal makes this a big thumbs up from us.
We have noticed a few teething issues at the start but that is often the case with a new startup and it has been encouraging to see daily updates to the plugin reflecting in our dashboard that speedily addressed any faults we may have noticed.
Combine that with excellent support from an award winning WordPress team and you have a winner here.
Is there a RafflePress coupon code?
RafflePress always have a promotion running which is typically around the 20% mark and other times of the year for example Black Friday may be increased.
However occasionally vendors share coupons, these will appear below (or blank if none).
